Latest NHTSA RV Recalls for July 2024
July has seen a brand-new batch of NHTSA RV recalls that affect thousands of 2021–2025 RVs. Even though we’re right in the middle of summer RV camping season, it’s a good time to check our latest NHTSA recall list to see if your RV is on it. Here is the freshest batch of NHTSA recalls as of July 2024.
2023–2024 B25RQ travel trailers equipped with LED backlight circuit board
Backlight circuit board overheats, and could cause a fire
The LED backlight circuit board in the cooktop range could fail. As a result, the circuit board can overheat, which could result in fire.
What owners of affected products should do
Owners of affected Bigfoot B25RQ Travel Trailers should reach out to their dealer, who will will disconnect and cut the circuit powering the LED backlights and terminate the wiring, free of charge. Additionally, if you have questions about this recall, contact Bigfoot customer service at (250) 546-2155. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed on July 1, 2024.

2023–2024 Model Z fifth-wheels and Model Z-Air travel trailers
Incorrectly wired 12-volt system
The 12-volt system may have been wired without over-current protection and with undersized wiring for the refrigerator, which could result in overheated wires.
What owners of affected products should do
Owners of affected RVs should reach out to their dealer, who will replace the wiring, free of charge. Owners are welcome to contact Brinkley customer service at (574) 501-4280 regarding recall number REC-2402. Owner notification letters were expected to be sent out in July 2024.
Forest River
2024–2025 Cross Trail motorhomes
Ladder may detach
The backer on the ladder receiver may not have been installed. As a result, the ladder could detach unexpectedly, potentially resulting in injury or death from a fall.
What owners of affected products should do
Owners should reach out to their dealer, who will inspect and replace the ladder as needed, free of charge. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed out by July 14, 2024. 2024–2025 Forest River Salem, and Wildwood travel trailers
No emergency exit installed
The affected travel trailers don’t have a secondary emergency exit installed, which could result in entrapment of occupants in an emergency situation such as a fire.
What owners of affected products should do
Owners of affected Salem and Wildwood travel trailers should reach out to their dealers, who will install an emergency exit window, free of charge. For further information, contact Forest River customer service at (574) 534-3167 about recall number 72-1805. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 7, 2024.
2024 Forest River Salem, Wildwood, and Stealth EVO travel trailers
Federal placard may state wrong rim size
Affected RVs have a federal placard that states the incorrect rim size. As a result, these placards don’t comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, “Tire Selection and Rims.”
What owners of affected products should do
Owners of recalled RVs should reach out to their dealers, who will install the correct federal placards, free of charge. For further information about this recall, contact Forest River customer service at (503) 831-5413 regarding recall number 22-1808.
2024 Forest River Salem, Puma, Wildwood, and 2025 Cherokee travel trailers equipped with certain Pacific Rim brand couplers
Hitch may fail
Hitch couplers have an incorrect load rating of 14,000 pounds, which may lead to overloading the coupler, which could result in hitch failure.
What owners of affected products should do
Owners of affected Salem, Puma, Wildwood and Cherokee travel trailers should reach out to their dealers, who will check the date code of the hitch coupler and replace it if necessary, free of charge. Triple E Recreational Vehicles
Leisure Travel Van 2020–2024 Wonder W24RL, W24FTB, W24MBL, and W24MB
Generator may fall due to inadequate support
The floor structure may not be secured to the cross-member that supports the generator. As a result the floor could collapse under the weight of the generator and it could fall out of the RV.
What owners of affected products should do
Owners of affected motorhomes should reach out to their dealers, who will properly secure the floor structure to the cross member, free of charge. For further information, owners can contact Triple E customer service at (204) 325-4361 regarding recall number CA#10556-1.
Winnebago Industries
2021–2025 Ekko motorhomes
Fuse may melt due to circuit overheating
The solar charging system was designed with inadequate over-current protection, which could allow the circuit to overheat and melt the fuse.
What owners of affected products should do
Winnebago is researching a solution to this issue and expects to mail owner notification letters September 13, 2024. For further information, owners of affected vehicles should contact Winnebago customer service at (641) 585-3535 regarding recall number 186.
Ford Motor Company
2023-2024 Transit vehicles equipped with a Transit Trail package
Corrosion may result in loss of power-steering assist
Corrosion in the ground eyelet joint in the electronic power assist steering can cause loss of power steering assist.
What owners of affected products should do
Owners should contact their dealers, who will install a new EPAS ground pigtail kit, free of charge. For further information, owners should contact Ford customer service at (866) 436-7332 regarding recall number 24S46. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 5.
Storyteller Overland
2024 GXV Next vehicles
Incorrect certification label could lead to overloading
Three 2024 Storyteller GXV Next vehicles are being recalled because the Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) listed on their certification labels is incorrect and could lead to the vehicle being overloaded. Because of this, the affected vehicles don’t comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 120, “Wheels and Rims—Other than Passenger Cars.”
What owners of affected products should do
Storyteller Overland will mail corrected labels to owners of affected vehicles, free of charge. For more information, contact Storyteller Overland customer service at (888) 999-7442. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 10, 2024.
